How to stay stylish for a flight?

Hi Zoe,

Summer is here and I’m about to travel in Australia for holidays. But, how to look good when travelling?

Thanks for your advise!

Dear Tamara,

Fashionable travel is always possible, and you won’t have to be uncomfortable in order to achieve it. Always remember to keep things simple. Don’t overdress. Choose neutral colours which go with loads of outfits, like grey, beige or white.

Choose clothing that is comfortable and stylish at the same time, you can still look great in a pair of boyfriend jeans or leggings and keep your legs warm.

A big scarf in cashmere or soft wool can provide a great way to keep warm in the plane’s air-conditioning. Wear a light fitted top, but carry a sweatshirt with you. Think to put on flat slip-on shoes that you can take off easily.

Here are some examples of trendy but simple outfits that I like:

Here is my personal selection of clothing that I usually wear when travelling :

Cashmere cardigan, Zadig et Voltaire / Suede bag, Zara / Tank top, H&M / Boyfriend jeans, J.Brand / Sunnies, Fendi / Headphones, Bose / Eye mask, Muji / Card holder, Saint Laurent Paris / Hat, Stetson / Scarf, Epice / Kitty flats, Charlotte Olympia.

Kookai Paris meets Sibling London

During my last trip to Paris, I had the chance to discover a new fashion collaboration. The French label Kookai has worked on a new capsule collection with British brand Sibling.

The 15-piece knit collection includes Kookaï’s signature body-con dress with horizontal stripes, a jacquard tartan overcoat (which is my favorite!!), a striped shirt and a range of tartan bags, hats, scarves and socks (super cute).

With a penchant for knitwear, the designers behind Sibling — Sid Bryan, Joe Bates and Cozette McCreery - worked at various design houses including John Galliano and Lanvin before launching their label in 2008 and have infused a bold punk aesthetic into their knitwear. I met them in the Parisian show room called 217RP, they are so fun!

I really liked the fantastic fabrics and the funky colors of this knit collection. Kookai reminds me my adolescence, it was such an 80’s brand which is now improving more and more about the style and the way to give a new modern look to the outfits. It really changes my vision on that French brand, which is super cool and easy to wear.

The collab will be launch on November 3 in Kookai stores and online.

Can’t wait to get one of that piece for winter!

My private visit to Charlotte Olympia store in Mayfair, London

Last Wednesday, I had the privilege to get a private visit of the Charlotte Olympia store and Press Office in London. I went there with Alice, the lovely Press and Content Manager of the brand.

Charlotte Olympia’s flagship store is located on Maddox street, a charming Georgian shop restored to its former glory by Charlotte’s own hand.

Opened in the Summer 2010, the store is a unique insight into the designer’s mind and beautifully captures the Charlotte Olympia aesthetic, so 40’s.

The shoes are displayed in a gem of a store with hand-carved oak cabinets, an original herringbone floor, and ‘spider’ fabric blinds to compliment the Eames style sofa and antique brass lamps.

All the designs are on my wishlist! In a very next post, I’ll show you the amazing press office… Stay tuned!

Wolford teams with Mario Testino

Top international fashion photographer Mario Testino is giving new spirit to Wolford starting in July 2014. His photographs will be featured in Wolford boutiques worldwide through advertising campaigns, videos and visuals.

According to Wolford, Testino’s images evoke the essence of “an emotive, self-confident femininity that is sensual and aesthetic whilst being stylish and provocative”.

Among the pieces he has shot, there is the Image String Body, an iconic piece which marks 65 years of Wolford, and the Pure 50 Tights, hailed as the world’s first tights with bonded seams.

A masterpiece for all lingerie fans! I just realize that I only wear Wolford tights (the most comfortable and strong ones) and bodysuits, that I love wearing under my tee-shirt in winter. It’s really soft on your skin and you feel instantly warm.

Love it!

Gisele Bundchen’s boy cut for Balenciaga fall 2014 collection

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen shows off a very short hair cut for new Balenciaga advertising campaign, creating a buzz cut on the web!

'This is how I see Gisele for Balenciaga; strong, powerful, mysterious and uncompromising,' explains artistic director Alexander Wang.'‘For every picture we took with Gisele, we had to take another picture with the body double. Then we fused the two together,’
The shaved haircut was achieved through a bald skullcap which was crafted over the course of two days on a body double.

Alexa Chung and Poppy Delevingne on a girls-only road trip for Net-a-porter

Model mates Alexa and Poppy head to Ibiza for online weekly fashion magazine ‘The Edit’ earlier this summer.

On first meeting Alexa 10 years ago at a casting call,Poppy says: ‘I remember thinking she was very beautiful, almost cat-like, but definitely a bit of a bloke. She was wearing skinny jeans that I wanted/needed in my life immediately – a feeling I had no idea would resonate every time I saw her.’
The two BFF are
wearing a fabulous selection of clothing, which highlights a strong country western trend this season.
